About Me

I am Sara from Chicago, IL and I now live on Cape Cod. I started running in May 2015 as a way to try and quit my gym. I was so sick of paying a huge monthly fee to only use the elliptical or treadmill, so I thought, why not? I started the Couch to 5K plan and though it took me a little longer than 9 weeks to build up to running for 30 minutes, I did it! By August I was regularly running 3+ miles and discussing training with anyone I could talk to.

My sister and I started discussing running a half marathon together in September 2015. I never thought it would be possible, but one day after completing a 5 mile run I said the hell with it and we signed up! On April 30th, 2016 we ran The Willimantic Half Marathon together...AND IT WAS AMAZING! We finished our first ever half marathon in a time of 2:20:50, CRUSHING our goal time of 2:30! Official Half Marathoners! 



I was lucky enough to train for a second half marathon in September 2016 (RnR Philly!) and completed a hot and humid 13.1 miles with one of my best friends by my side. 

2017 is full of big goals for me- I plan on running 4 half marathons and a few shorter races, get stronger, and (hopefully) get faster! 

I never thought running would be a big part of my life, but I am SO glad it is. It has taught me so much about myself and pushed me to my limits.  

I am so proud to call myself a runner.
